Denver Newspaper Agency - Customer Case Study

The Denver Newspaper Agency (DNA) faced material flow challenges when consolidating its printing facilities, needing to support new presses and a growing volume of free standing advertising inserts (FSIs). Their key objectives were to minimize floor space and labor, eliminate fork trucks in the mailroom, and improve control and delivery accuracy. To meet these challenges, DNA partnered with Dematic for an integrated solution.

Dematic implemented an end-to-end solution featuring its Material Tracking and Control (MTC) software and a high-density Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS). The system streamlined receiving, storage, and delivery of FSI pallets, providing real-time visibility and control. This allowed DNA to significantly increase inserter production windows, minimize damage to materials, and achieve greater delivery accuracy to its distribution centers, all while freeing up crucial floor space.
