Snack Brands Australia, the nation’s second-leading snack supplier, needed to become more agile in managing a fast-moving, high-turnover inventory to win market share. Their existing forecasting software produced only monthly numbers, forcing planners to spend about a week per forecast manipulating sales scan and promotional data in spreadsheets, with limited system access and poor customer-level granularity. To address this, Snack Brands chose Demand Solutions and its DSX forecasting platform.
Demand Solutions implemented DSX integrated with Snack Brands’ ERP history, enabling transactional-level weekly forecasts, simultaneous multi-user access, and more accurate item splits. The change shaved a day off the forecasting cycle, saved the finance team two to three days previously spent on customer-level splits, and made forecasts available enterprise-wide to drive MRP/DRP and faster promotional responses. Snack Brands is now targeting a 5% increase in forecast accuracy, a 20% reduction in safety stock, and a 4% reduction in waste with Demand Solutions DSX.
