Lifetime Brands brings future to focus

Lifetime Brands, a rapidly growing designer and distributor of household names such as Cuisinart, KitchenAid and Farberware, was tracking about 14,000 SKUs and manufacturing overseas but relied on paper-based forecasting and ad-hoc sales input, resulting in poor fill rates, excess and wrong inventory. Although several Demand Solutions products were already installed, the Forecast Management, Requirements Planning and Feedback tools were largely unused until the company committed to formal forecasting and replenishment processes.

Demand Solutions implemented a monthly process using Demand Solutions Forecast Management to generate sales history, the Demand Solutions Feedback module for salesperson adjustments, and Demand Solutions Requirements Planning to convert forecasts into firm orders. As a result Lifetime Brands saw dramatic improvements: roughly nine months without a single back-ordered item for major retailers like Wal‑Mart and Target, a grocery distributor’s fill rates rising from ~50% to nearly 90%, and an estimated $500,000 less placed on back order each month, along with stronger executive buy-in and smoother customer relationships.
