Furmano Foods, a family-owned canned vegetable and tomato products maker founded in 1921, faced complex forecasting challenges driven by hundreds of seasonal “brite” items, mixed fresh-pack and continuous-pack production, and reliance on outside sales input. Their previous forecasting engine was overly complex, inefficient and inaccurate, preventing them from producing a reliable forecast until they engaged Demand Solutions and implemented its Forecast Management product.

Demand Solutions’ Forecast Management simplified and automated Furmano Foods’ forecasting so one planner could manage the process, auto-disable inactive customers/products, and eliminate many manual steps. As a result, monthly forecast work dropped from about two weeks to roughly two days, co‑pack forecast accuracy rose from ~40% to 86%, overall forecast accuracy improved by 12 percentage points to 87%, and purchasing and fill rates became more consistent with fewer stockouts.
