A Demand Solutions Case Study
Dyrup, a Denmark-based paint and stain manufacturer, faced a major forecasting shortfall when Supply Chain VP Henrik D. S. Nielsen discovered the company effectively had no standardized forecasting process across its regions. Outside a French division using its own system, forecasts were local Excel spreadsheets and promotional intel often never reached the ERP—problematic for a seasonal business with long lead times. Dyrup evaluated several vendors and selected Demand Solutions (including its DS FM functionality) for its flexibility, value, and European consultant network.
Demand Solutions rolled out a uniform forecasting system and process—data upload and cleansing, automated statistical forecasts, collaborative local reviews, and monthly cross‑functional forecast meetings—with integration into Dyrup’s ERP and Data Warehouse. The program exposed and fixed data and ERP misuse (improving fill rates), enabled up to 80% of turnover to be evaluated, reduced executive forecast time to about four hours per month and one‑ to two‑hour meetings, and eliminated many penalty fees from missed fills. As a result of Demand Solutions’ implementation Dyrup now has an almost perfect service level, better pre‑season stocking, and expects improved stock turnover.
