CML France - Customer Case Study

CML France, the automotive lighting division of CML Innovative Technologies that supplies OEMs such as Renault, Volkswagen, Mercedes‑Benz, BMW, Honda, GM and Toyota, struggled with unreliable customer forecasts and frequent new‑product launches that threatened its ability to meet the industry 95% customer service requirement. With almost 10,000 part numbers, more than 100 customers submitting forecasts and 20–30 new SKUs a year, CML France had no independent forecasting tool and relied on manual processes—so it engaged Demand Solutions and implemented Demand Solutions Forecast Management (DS FM).

Demand Solutions implemented DS FM and interfaced it with CML’s Mapics ERP in less than 60 days, enabling statistical forecasts to be validated against customer forecasts and allowing the forecaster to manage by exception. As a result, CML France increased customer service levels by almost 10 percentage points (now exceeding the 95% target), kept inventories constant despite substantial sales growth (reducing carrying costs and boosting profits), sped new‑product introductions, and streamlined forecasting into monthly S&OP—all thanks to Demand Solutions.
