Certified Transmission, a remanufactured-transmission leader based in Omaha, Nebraska with more than 300 employees and two plants, faced a complex scheduling challenge: 65 work centers, 225 transmission families and a manual “walk‑around” scheduler trying to keep technicians fed and the supply chain flowing. To address this, the company implemented Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) software from Demand Solutions.

Demand Solutions’ APS centralized technician qualifications, work‑center capacities and priority rules (A/B movers and target stock levels), standardizing scheduling and inventory decisions. The system improved stocking levels, made it unnecessary to hire a second scheduler, freed staff time for other tasks, and supports Certified Transmission’s operation of roughly 625 rebuilds per week while maintaining about 3,000 finished units and $1.5 million in parts inventory.
