BP Improves Inventory Picture with Demand Solutions

BP Lubricants faced fragmented ERP, finance and inventory systems after acquiring Castrol, which made forecasting and planning difficult and led to excess finished-goods stock. To address this, BP engaged Demand Solutions (via Demand Solutions Africa) to standardize planning and improve demand forecasting using the Demand Solutions forecasting platform.

Demand Solutions Africa implemented a single planning system, built interfaces to internal and third‑party systems, established KPIs and forecasting discipline, and began using Demand Solutions features (including planned Demand Solutions Feedback). As a result BP Lubricants cut finished‑goods inventory by more than 20% without hurting customer service, improved forecast accuracy over several months, and embedded ongoing KPI‑driven forecasting improvements.
