A Demand Driven Technologies Case Study
Indaux, a leading Spanish manufacturer of furniture fittings operating in over 70 countries, faced significant supply chain challenges due to its complex global operations. With 25,000 SKUs and a 24-hour delivery promise, the company struggled with inefficient, siloed planning methods across its factories, leading to thousands of work-in-process orders and excessive expediting, particularly for overseas suppliers. To address this, Indaux partnered with vendor Demand Driven Technologies to implement its Intuiflow solution with Demand Driven MRP (DDMRP) principles.
The solution from Demand Driven Technologies standardized planning by utilizing Intuiflow's dynamic buffer positioning and sizing to align inventory with actual demand. This provided unified visibility and filtered demand signals across all production facilities. The results were significant: expedites were dramatically reduced, especially for materials sourced from China, and purchased-parts inventory was cut by 10%. Additionally, the planning process was unified across all sites, which drastically decreased planning time and freed resources for higher-value activities.
