New York City Non-Profit Eliminates Paper Checks to Keep Cash Moving During COVID-19

Independent Living Association, Inc. (ILA), a Brooklyn nonprofit that provides residential care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, needed a better way to manage accounts payable during COVID-19. Paper checks were difficult to sign, print, and mail when office staff and board members were working remotely, and the organization wanted a secure, efficient replacement. Deluxe helped them with Deluxe Payment Exchange and Print+Mail.

With Deluxe Payment Exchange, ILA moved to digital payments using eChecks, while keeping the option to outsource check printing and mailing when needed. The solution integrated with their Great Plains accounting system, required no IT overhaul, and was set up in less than a day. As a result, ILA converted 500 monthly payments to eChecks, digitized 100% of its AP workflow and payment process, and enabled staff and signatories to work fully remotely with faster, simpler payment processing.
