Deluxe worked with Polka Dot Parlor, an online mattress retailer looking to expand into physical retail and reach consumers before they had already made purchase decisions. The company had tried new mover data from another provider, but most of the people reached had already chosen the products they wanted, limiting the campaign’s effectiveness.

Deluxe proposed a pilot using multi-sourced pre-mover data, aggregated weekly from dozens of mover trigger databases to identify consumers up to six weeks before a move. In a direct mail test targeting 50,000 consumers across California and Washington, the pre-mover segment outperformed the control group and the new mover segment, delivering a 0.10% net-of-control lift and 3.3x better campaign performance versus control, with increases in traffic, gross sales, and per-unit sales.
