Research Triangle Institute discovers time-saving results on the web

Research Triangle Institute (RTI) is a multidisciplinary research organization with more than 1,800 staff working on projects across health, environment, technology and education. RTI’s legacy timekeeping system was inadequate for the scale and compliance needs of government contracts; executives sought a replacement that could handle 1,800+ timesheets biweekly, run on SQL Server and integrate with their Deltek Costpoint financial system.

RTI implemented Deltek Time Collection for 1,838 employees in a phased rollout from May to August, with consultant support for setup and troubleshooting. The web-based system eliminated manual data entry, enforced valid project numbers, sped up processing, reduced paperwork and improved accuracy and auditability—completing the project on time and under budget while providing better labor reporting and data integrity.
