Lakesmere is a Winchester-based building-envelope specialist (roofs, cladding and glazing) with around £50m turnover and more than 200 staff across multiple offices, known for projects such as Heathrow T2a and the London Olympics Aquatic Centre. During an office refurbishment the company discovered a room full of paper records and estimated that paper processing was costing £300–400k a year, highlighting the need for better document control and integration with core business systems.
Lakesmere implemented Deltek Project Information Management (PIM) to centralize contacts, projects, documents and integrate with its finance system. PIM eliminated much of the paper handling, enforced standard procedures, sped up non‑conformance reporting, enabled asset tracking and improved data accuracy—delivering hundreds of thousands in annual savings while boosting resource utilization, performance and profitability.
