Sabmiller serves up data 60 times faster for SAP global ERP, HR and CRM applications

SABMiller, the world’s second-largest brewer with operations in 80 countries, was undertaking a global SAP rollout for ERP, HR and CRM. Its test landscape of 12 non-production environments required 24 refreshes a year, and each refresh took about 20 hours (6h backup, 10h restore, 4h renaming), causing project delays, repeated DBA effort, higher outsourcing spend and redundant storage costs.

SABMiller implemented Delphix Data as a Service to provision data for every development and test environment, optimizing its complex, partially outsourced setup. Provisioning time fell from 20 hours to 10 minutes (60x faster), saving 85 days of effort per year, halving storage costs, eliminating DBA overtime and delivering a 3x return through outsourced-cost avoidance.
