Clean Harbors, a leading North American provider of environmental, energy and industrial services serving Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and hundreds of thousands of smaller businesses, faced rapid data growth that strained IT. Nightly refreshes of terabytes across multiple SQL Server versions slowed testing, troubleshooting and analytics, and the recent Safety-Kleen acquisition further increased data and integration demands.

To address this, Clean Harbors deployed Delphix and virtualized about 70 source databases into more than 140 full virtual copies, refreshed nightly and created in minutes. The solution delivers 18 TB of effective data while using only 2.5 TB of storage, consolidates analytics from three SQL Server versions into a single on-demand SQL 2012 instance, and enabled faster testing, production debugging and M&A sandboxing with greater agility and lower cost.
