Plastikon Manufacturing, a Hayward, California–based automotive supplier with more than 25 years’ experience, had been unable to upgrade its heavily modified legacy ERP because each customization required costly rewrites. When the company switched to IQMS (now DELMIAWORKS), it sought a fully integrated system built and supported by the vendor and wanted to improve visual management—specifically the easy identification of right‑hand and left‑hand parts produced from the same family tool.

Plastikon implemented IQMS’s multi‑label printer application tied to the production monitoring system so label data is sent in real time to two printers as parts exit the work center. The solution prints right‑hand kanbans on white labels and left‑hand kanbans on yellow, simplifying label printing from a single BOM and improving part identification and accuracy on the shop floor.
