Payroll in a Comprehensive ERP Software System Saves Manufacturer Time and Money

Wisconsin Plastics, Inc. (WPI) is a 230-employee, four-division manufacturer that had already adopted IQMS’ EnterpriseIQ ERP but was still running a legacy ABRA payroll system. The old process relied on weekly paper punch cards, manual tallying and spreadsheet imports, required outside help for quarter- and year-end closeouts, lacked vacation accrual tracking, and consumed significant supervisor and accounting time and budget for maintenance.

WPI implemented IQMS payroll and time & attendance modules—after just two one-hour training sessions—moving to integrated digital timecards with employee badge swipes, automatic shift adjustments and exception-based reviews. The rollout was seamless across four plants, paid for itself in three months, and cut payroll processing time (saving about 1.5 workdays and ~$10,000/year), eliminated ~$3,000/year in paper costs, and reduced maintenance fees to less than a quarter of the previous system.
