Case Study: Gogo achieves centralized AD authentication and eliminates shared passwords with Delinea

A Delinea Case Study

Preview of the Gogo Case Study

Gogo Soars Globally with Help from Centrify Server Suite

Gogo, a leading provider of in-flight connectivity and entertainment installed on over 9,000 aircraft, expanded globally in 2015 with a new 2Ku satellite platform. That growth drove rapid provisioning of Linux servers and exposed a pain point: IT was manually bridging each Linux box to Microsoft Active Directory, risking shared root credentials, noncompliance with SOX/PCI, and unscalable administration.

Gogo evaluated and deployed Centrify Server Suite (starting with Centrify Express), automating AD integration across Linux via Puppet and PAM so admins use single AD credentials and Group Policy for consistent configurations. The rollout reduced privileged accounts and password sharing, centralized identity management for 1,000+ servers, advanced compliance, and set the stage for future capabilities like session monitoring, auditing, and multi-factor authentication.
