Chugai Pharma Europe Combines SSO, MFA and VPN-less Remote Access with Centrify

Chugai Pharma Europe, the European arm of Japan’s Chugai Pharmaceutical (a member of the Roche Group), was managing three separate identity tools for single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA) and enterprise mobility management (EMM). The disconnected solutions strained small IT teams, lacked on‑premises app support and mobile MFA capabilities, and left the company seeking a cloud-based approach to better protect intellectual property and sensitive patient data.

Chugai deployed Centrify Identity Service, including an App Gateway that provides VPN-less secure access to on‑premises and cloud apps, mobile-based MFA and EMM controls. The single solution replaced three products, simplified administration and policy enforcement, cut costs and IT effort, improved security (especially for untrusted locations), and enabled phased rollouts across the UK, Germany and planned expansion to the US, France and Tokyo.
