Centrify Identity Service Reduces Complexity, Increases Security for New Zealand Agricultural Organization

New Zealand Avocado Growers Association (NZ Avocado) is the public face of the $130M New Zealand avocado industry, providing portal access to specialized apps (like a Spray Diary and AvoTools) for growers, packers and exporters. With each app requiring separate credentials—often one set per orchard—users and staff were overwhelmed by dozens of passwords, frequent support calls and even a shared spreadsheet of credentials. Lacking an internal IT team, NZ Avocado sought a single sign-on solution to reduce complexity, cut password assistance requests, increase security and keep users engaged.

NZ Avocado implemented Centrify Identity Service after an evaluation found it could integrate with legacy apps, support SAML and fit the organization’s budget and infrastructure. The deployment eliminated password sharing, ensured each user has a unique, auditable identity for login tracking, simplified access for over 1,350 members, and enabled the association to adopt widely accepted security practices with minimal ongoing IT overhead.
