Westmorland and Furness Council assesses 23 site submissions with Delib

Westmorland and Furness Council faced the challenge of running a Call for Sites exercise to identify land suitable for future minerals and waste development across a large and geographically complex district. The council needed to not only collect submissions but also make spatial sense of them to assess sites against a wide range of constraints and share findings transparently. They turned to Delib's Citizen Space Geospatial to address this.

Using Citizen Space Geospatial, Delib provided a solution that collected structured, spatial data directly through an interactive map. This allowed the council to efficiently move into a high-level constraint assessment, which found all 23 submitted sites to be of least constraint. The results were published openly on an interactive map, providing a strong, transparent foundation for ongoing stakeholder engagement as part of the Local Plan development process.
