The Scottish Government crowdsources 600+ ideas in a week with Delib

The Scottish Government's Digital Engagement team sought to identify an online tool to improve public involvement and complement their extensive consultation activities. They needed a platform that could be culturally embedded across all government departments to facilitate idea generation from citizens. The vendor, Delib, provided their product, Dialogue, to meet this challenge.

Delib's Dialogue platform was implemented as a flexible, government-wide tool. It was successfully used for two distinct exercises: a multi-week open data discussion and a one-week follow-up on wild salmon fishing policy, which generated hundreds of comments across more than 60 ideas. This allowed the government to crowdsource insightful ideas beyond the constraints of traditional consultations. Delib's solution effectively expanded public participation for The Scottish Government.
