The Province of British Columbia faced a substantial budget deficit and needed to make difficult choices to balance its books. The government wanted to engage its citizens in this challenging decision-making process and chose to use Delib's Budget Simulator service to achieve this.

Delib implemented its Budget Simulator, which allowed citizens to try their hand at balancing the provincial budget using real data. Over 3,000 people participated in the exercise, with more than 1,500 taking part in the first 24 hours alone. This provided the BC government with valuable insight into citizen spending priorities, successfully engaging the public on a complex financial issue.
