Essex County Council sought to reduce its carbon footprint and encourage active travel among residents in Braintree. Their challenge was to understand current travel habits and gather feedback on a new transport strategy to reduce car journeys. They used Delib's Citizen Space and Citizen Space Geospatial products to consult with the public.

Delib's solution enabled the council to conduct a modern, visual consultation. Using Citizen Space Geospatial, they provided constituents with a clear view of how the proposed strategy would impact their neighbourhood. This allowed Essex County Council to generate new ideas, get specific feedback, and better inform the public. As a result, the council overhauled its consultation processes and is now able to bring a new dimension to its place-based engagement activities.
