Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council's challenge was a low level of public engagement in its statutory consultations, exemplified by receiving only 33 submissions for a major €36 million project. The council sought to move beyond its basic, legally-prescribed consultation process to develop a stronger online offering better suited to a modern audience. They turned to vendor Delib and its Citizen Space platform for a solution.

By implementing Delib's Citizen Space, the council gained a dedicated and easy-to-use online consultation platform. This enabled their Communications team to manage digital consultations independently, removing IT bottlenecks. The solution led to an immediate and substantial increase in participation, and the shift fostered a more digitally-aware way of working for the council, expanding staff skills and enhancing their reputation.
