Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council boosts consultation participation with Delib after 33 submissions on a €36m library project

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council was only meeting the minimum statutory requirements for its public consultations, resulting in very low engagement. This was highlighted when a major €36m library project received only 33 submissions. The council sought to improve its online consultation offering and turned to vendor Delib and its product, Citizen Space.

By implementing Delib's Citizen Space, the council gained a dedicated, easy-to-use platform that its Communications team could manage without relying on IT. This shift to a more digitally-aware way of working led to an immediate and significant increase in participation. The solution also enabled the council to bring more voices into its decision-making processes and enhance its reputation.
