Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council boosts consultation from 33 submissions with Delib

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council was only meeting the minimum statutory requirements for public consultation, an approach that resulted in very low engagement. This was highlighted when a major €36m library project received only 33 submissions. The council sought to improve its online consultation offering and turned to vendor Delib and its platform, Citizen Space.

Delib provided a dedicated, ready-made consultation platform with a straightforward subscription model. This enabled the council's Communications team to manage digital consultations easily without relying on IT support. The results were a significant increase in participation rates and a shift to a more digitally-aware way of working, which enhanced the council's reputation and brought more voices into its decision-making processes.
