Case Study: Camden Council achieves community-led climate action planning with Delib’s Citizen Space

A Delib Case Study

Preview of the Camden Council Case Study

Camden Council reduces borough emissions by 52% with Delib

Camden Council faced the challenge of developing a meaningful, borough-wide response to the climate crisis that genuinely reflected the priorities of their diverse community. They needed to go beyond traditional consultation to achieve both depth and breadth of engagement. To do this, they partnered with Delib and used its Citizen Space platform as part of their approach.

Delib's Citizen Space provided the online consultation platform that allowed Camden to open up their draft Climate Action Plan for wide public feedback, ensuring accessibility and transparency. This community-led approach, complemented by the earlier Citizens' Assembly, delivered remarkable results. The council invested over £35 million in climate action, reduced borough-wide emissions by 52% since 2005, planted over 5,700 trees, and expanded initiatives like Healthy School Streets and segregated cycleways.
