Dejero Transforms Video Capture For WTTW

WTTW, the Chicago-based PBS station, needed a more cost-effective way to produce live local content for programs like “Chicago Tonight” without relying on an aging microwave truck that was expensive to maintain and required specialized crews. The station turned to Dejero and its video-over-IP acquisition and distribution products to enable live field reporting and improve workflow efficiency.

Dejero implemented two LIVE+ GoBox transmitters and a LIVE+ Broadcast Server, allowing WTTW to send broadcast-quality video over bonded cellular and Wi‑Fi from virtually anywhere. The solution reduced operating and maintenance costs versus the microwave truck, enabled up to 40 hours of HD recording, and helped WTTW deliver more live content for news and special coverage, including its pledge drive, while saving time and resources.
