Cable 14 Creates Multi-hub Path for Live Provincial Election Coverage

Cable 14, a Hamilton-based community broadcaster, needed a reliable way to deliver high-quality live coverage for the 2018 Ontario Provincial Election, including acting as host broadcaster for a party leader’s headquarters. Working with Dejero and its blended cellular live broadcast technology, Cable 14 had to support both its own local election coverage and a live pool feed for other broadcasters across Ontario.

Dejero implemented transmitters, connectivity services, Control cloud management, and a receiver, along with the Dejero Mobile App for field reporting. The solution created a multi-hub path that moved the signal from Hamilton to Toronto and then to national broadcasters without added cost or transmission loss, and it worked flawlessly on election night. Since deploying Dejero, Cable 14 has also expanded live coverage to more venues, especially sports locations, and increased live programming to 30% of its broadcast schedule.
