Waka Kotahi plans 24,000 lane km investment with Deighton Associates

The customer, Waka Kotahi, faced a critical challenge as maintenance investment for New Zealand's state highway network had not kept pace with increasing traffic and costs, leading to a decline in overall network condition. They engaged vendor Deighton Associates to determine the necessary investment levels over multiple time horizons using their dTIMS analysis and modelling service.

Deighton Associates implemented a collaborative solution, uniting 14 organizations under the Infrastructure Decision Support umbrella to conduct development, analysis, and implementation phases. Using dTIMS, they analyzed the entire network, which resulted in a national investment request and a robust three-year work program. The project delivered advanced technical developments in asset modelling and strengthened professional relationships across the industry, enhancing infrastructure decision-making nationwide.
