New Zealand implements national pavement management for 100,000 km of roads with Deighton Associates

The customer, New Zealand, sought to implement a national pavement management system to be used by over 80 road agencies managing 100,000 km of diverse road types. Their challenge was to find an open and flexible system that users could alter without vendor dependence, and it had to be pilot tested within a strict seven-month timeframe. They selected the dTIMS software from vendor Deighton Associates.

Deighton Associates provided a national dTIMS site license, which offered the unique flexibility for each agency to define its own models and perform analysis. The implementation was a success, allowing for robust forecasting and optimization of maintenance spending. The project's excellence was recognized when it received the Supreme Award for engineering excellence from the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand.
