The Central Otago District Council needed to create a long-term rehabilitation program for its road network but lacked the ability to make accurate, long-range predictions for its 509km of sealed roads. They partnered with Deighton Associates and implemented the dTIMS system as part of the IDS dTIMS Bureau Service to address this challenge.

Deighton Associates' dTIMS solution successfully forecasted maintenance needs and required spending. The results were highly accurate, extending reseal predictions from 3 years out to 30 years and leading to a 28% reduction in resurfacing. This modeling achieved an annual savings of approximately $300,000 for the council.
