Study Group - Customer Case Study

Study Group, a leading supplier of international students to Britain’s higher education sector, faced a major threat in 2011 when the UK government introduced significant changes to the international student visa system. The changes put its business, and the wider UK education export sector, at risk. Definition’s education PR team was brought in to help change the legislative climate and reassure prospective and current students that the UK remained a welcoming place to study.

Definition responded with a multi-pronged PR campaign that included issues-led content, opinion articles, case studies, FOI-based data, and coordinated media outreach to influence government and shape public opinion. Definition also amplified expert voices through university vice-chancellors and a press conference uniting higher education stakeholders. The campaign delivered 238 tier-one media placements, including 115 in national outlets, helped prompt commentary in a House of Commons debate, and won two PR awards, with PR Week calling it an “unqualified success.”
