Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) is a large Texas-based credit union with 39 locations, more than 325,000 members, and roughly 200 Windows servers supporting a rapidly growing volume of file data. As storage use surged across its branch and corporate environment, RBFCU needed a better way to understand what was being stored, reduce redundant and outdated files, and help users take responsibility for managing their own storage. To address this challenge, RBFCU turned to DefendX Software, using its file data management tools including Vision and Control-QFS.

DefendX Software deployed Vision to help RBFCU identify old, duplicate, and non-business-related files, then used Control-QFS to enforce quotas and manage storage growth across users, departments, and branches. The results included better visibility into file usage, predictable growth through analytics, improved data control, deferred storage expansion costs, reduced disaster recovery replication, and lower future storage investments. RBFCU also reported reduced help desk workload and faster deployment support from DefendX Software’s Professional Services team.
