The Japan Institute for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship (JSIE), a non-profit, needed a way to assess child bullying in schools. They developed a questionnaire but required a secure and easy-to-use digital platform to deploy it. They partnered with Deerhold for their expertise in mobile and web application development to build this custom software solution.

Deerhold developed the bilingual Guardian application using Grails and VueJS, which presented the questionnaire to children in an engaging and understandable format. The solution included secure data storage with AWS and strict privacy controls to protect sensitive information. The successful pilot at a Japanese school received positive feedback, leading to the project's expansion to more schools, with requests for additional features to be added.
