SUEZ group - Customer Case Study

SUEZ Group, a global leader in water and waste management, needed a way to reduce costly unplanned shutdowns at its energy-from-waste plants caused by non-compliant waste such as bulky objects entering the waste stream. The company’s operators were monitoring up to eight screens at once, making it difficult to consistently spot problematic items before they reached the plant.

Deepomatic implemented a computer vision solution for SUEZ at two London transfer stations, analyzing surveillance camera images and alerting operators to potential non-compliant waste so they could verify and remove it in time. The system reported nearly 60 detections in four months, helping prevent shutdowns, improve operator efficiency and precision, and generate useful operational data; each avoided blockage could save an estimated €100,000 in lost revenue.
