The Unveiling of 'AI Kyung-ju Choi' by DeepBrain AI and SK Telecom

SK Telecom, a major South Korean wireless telecommunications operator, partnered with DeepBrain AI to create a highly realistic AI Twin of renowned professional golfer K.J. Choi. The challenge was to develop this digital human for use as a virtual commentator without requiring the golfer's extensive time for traditional, studio-bound filming and scripted speech sessions.

DeepBrain AI implemented its AI Human technology, utilizing existing photographs and interview videos to extract facial data for deep learning. The solution was integrated with SK Telecom's TTS engine to recreate the golfer's distinctive voice. This innovative method resulted in the "AI Kyung-ju Choi," which made a successful debut as a commentator at the SK Telecom Open 2023, amazing audiences with its natural synchronization of facial expressions and gestures with live commentary. The project demonstrated a paradigm shift in AI human creation, proving it is possible to build a highly realistic avatar efficiently without compromising on quality.
