IM Flash Technologies, a joint venture formed by Intel and Micron, employed over 1,700 people in a highly competitive high-tech market and wanted to improve recruiting and retention for its engineers and technicians. Although turnover was already around 10 percent annually, executives lacked clear data on what would attract, retain, and engage employees.
IM Flash Technologies partnered with DecisionWise to conduct an Employee Value Proposition study, including leader interviews, employee focus groups, and a survey of the full workforce. DecisionWise identified four key employee groups and helped IM Flash make changes to flexible work, PTO, career development, and an onsite gym; over the next two years, turnover fell to an average of five percent, down from 10 percent, and employees reported greater appreciation for the company culture.
