BMW of Westlake, a premium dealership just outside Cleveland, Ohio, faced a major SEO challenge when it moved locations in January 2015. A dealership relocation can disrupt local search visibility and customer reach, so BMW of Westlake needed a way to update its online presence quickly and accurately. Dealer.com implemented a proactive SEO plan by updating directory listings ahead of the move and refreshing the website’s content and metadata on launch day to reflect the new address and geo-targeting. The results were strong: within two months, BMW of Westlake ranked in the top three organic search results for 81 keywords containing “Westlake,” with most other tracked local terms in the top five. Traffic also increased 3% month over month and 81% year over year in the first month after the changes.
