Metropolitan Fire Brigade - Customer Case Study

Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB), one of the world’s premier emergency response organisations, needed to strengthen the leadership and team skills of its Station Officers beyond operational firefighting. To support this, MFB partnered with DeakinCo. through its leadership development program to help firefighters move “from the back of the truck to the front,” with a focus on leadership, teamwork, trust, ethics, conflict resolution, open communication, and customer service.

DeakinCo. delivered a 15-week program made up largely of workshops, along with role plays, group challenges, debates, and guest insights from Deakin University lecturer David Parkin. The training culminated in a graduation ceremony for 20 Station Officers, who received Certificates of Achievement and senior rank badges. The program was reported as highly successful, broadened officers’ leadership capabilities, and was repeated for a second group with equally positive results.
