Medical Benefits Fund (MBF) faced significant government policy changes and demographic shifts in 1998, creating an urgent need to upskill its workforce. MBF partnered with DeakinCo. to design and deliver a national management training program to develop current and future team leader capabilities.

DeakinCo. created the Foundations of Management Program (FMP) in just three months, blending DeakinCo. and MBF content in a residential and distance-learning format. The program rolled out to 240 middle and senior managers and became a major success, also providing participants with 0.5 credit point toward a Deakin University Certificate in Management and a pathway to further study.
