Australia’s Largest Retailer Company, one of Australia’s largest FMCG retailers, needed to train hundreds of deli staff across the country on a new Easy Ordering system while encouraging staff to adopt it willingly and understand its impact on stock management, waste reduction, and customer satisfaction. DeakinCo. was brought in to help address this change management and training challenge.

DeakinCo. designed a gamified online learning experience, built around a simulation of the Easy Ordering system and underpinned by xAPI data analytics. Deli staff made decisions in the game and saw how those choices affected sales, markdowns, and customer satisfaction, helping shift mindsets and improve adoption; the program also generated data on staff behaviours to inform future learning initiatives.
