A Deacom Case Study
Silver Spring Foods, founded in 1929 and the No.1 retail horseradish brand in the U.S., faced growing pains when its legacy ERP could not support expanding business needs. The company—also a major co-packer with complex formulation, QC and labeling requirements—saw large inventory variances ($250k–$300k) and believed it needed costly physical expansion and extra staff, while many processes were handled outside the core system, causing delays and duplicate work.
SSF selected Deacom as a single, configurable ERP that met requirements without heavy customization, centralizing customer service, accounting, manufacturing, purchasing and shipping. With real-time visibility and Deacom MRP, SSF cut inventory variance from nearly $300k to $90k in year one and now to roughly $1.8k–$2.5k, proved it was not at capacity, and scaled the business without adding square footage.
