Genesis Cloud cuts latency from 40 ms to 20 ms with DE-CIX

Genesis Cloud, a Munich-based provider of AI and high-performance computing services, faced a challenge with connectivity fluctuations as their customers transferred huge amounts of data for AI training. They relied on transit providers which could not efficiently handle the large and variable bandwidth demands. To address this, they worked with vendor DE-CIX and implemented their GlobePEER Remote service.

The solution from DE-CIX provided Genesis Cloud with direct access from their data center in Kristiansand to the peering infrastructure in Frankfurt. This resulted in data transfer that was more secure, more reliable, and at least 50% faster. The measurable impact included a reduction in latency from an unstable 40 ms to a stable 20 ms, while also ensuring all data processing remained compliant with GDPR within Europe.
