A DDN Case Study
Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) needed a centralized media repository to unify its digital broadcasting workflow, from ingest and editing to post-production and playout. The challenge was to support heterogeneous systems and software, integrate with a future DAM platform, and enable simultaneous high-speed access without dropped frames or delays. MLSE chose DDN file storage for the project.
DDN implemented a high-performance, high-capacity centralized storage system that consolidated over 11,000 hours of video and removed multiple storage silos. The result was 8x faster ingest, real-time access to content, simplified collaboration, and the ability to publish more web clips while saving about $100,000 a year in tape costs. DDN also gave MLSE a scalable, energy-efficient repository with lower operating costs and room for future growth.
