Fox Sports Intrnational faced the challenge of moving SPEED from an SD, tape-based broadcast workflow to a fully digital, HD file-based process in a brand-new facility, while supporting ingest, editing, transcoding, play-out, and 75 concurrent Dalet users. To meet the tight timeline and performance requirements, the team turned to DDN storage and Dalet as the core workflow technologies.
DDN implemented a scalable, broadcast-quality storage system with about 100TB of capacity to serve as the central repository for the entire workflow, enabling concurrent ingest, edit, transcode, and play-out across nearly 200 clients. The result was a single consolidated storage environment that improved real-time access and collaboration, reduced copying and transcoding, lowered operating and power costs, and supported a predictable high-performance HD workflow without dropped frames or delays.
