A DDN Case Study
Einstein, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Integrated Imaging Program, faced rapid data growth of about 1TB per week, a decentralized research environment, limited IT staff, and a mix of storage and authentication systems. The institute needed a scalable, highly available way to archive microscopy data, support collaboration, and protect data across locations, so it turned to DDN and its GRIDScaler and WOS solutions.
DDN implemented an end-to-end data management platform combining GRIDScaler, the GS-WOS Bridge Gateway, and WOS object storage in a single federated namespace. This enabled automated data migration, offsite protection, and policy-based lifecycle management while reducing system complexity. DDN helped Einstein improve high-performance storage, automate monitoring, support disaster recovery, and lower management overhead and total cost of ownership.
