Frimley Park Hospital NHS Trust, through its Partnership Pathology Services (PPS) point-of-care testing team, needed to replace a limited legacy database that tracked participant details and results for its Q Point external quality assessment scheme. The old system was hard to maintain, lacked key functionality, and forced staff to perform many manual tasks; PPS also wanted a secure web portal for participants and manufacturers to submit and manage readings more easily.

DCSL Software Ltd built a new Microsoft SQL Server–based, web-enabled solution with secure remote access, automated calculations, reporting, billing, and administration tools. The platform improved access, security, and efficiency, and DCSL Software Ltd’s work helped Q Point scale to thousands of users, with the customer base growing to more than 5,000 participants and the system designed to support millions worldwide.
