Co-ordinated, Web-Enabled Wall-Mounted Displays for Leisure Centres

activeNewham, the Leisure Trust supporting council leisure, sports and volunteering in the London Borough of Newham, needed a way to keep information consistent across its website and new wall-mounted foyer displays for leisure centres. With no in-house developers and a tight budget, it turned to DCSL Software Ltd to build a connected TV app that could show timetables, activities and promotions while fitting into the Trust’s broader move toward cashless, self-service operations.

DCSL Software Ltd developed a web-based TV application using the displays’ built-in browser and integrated it with activeNewham’s existing systems and APIs, including its timetable and website content sources. The solution went live on schedule alongside self-service kiosks, reduced the need for duplicate data entry, improved content consistency, and made updates possible in seconds. activeNewham also estimated the project cost about half of what a larger development firm would have charged.
